The Launch of A love and a kiss
A love and a kiss launched was born in October 2014. The idea came about as I have always spent a lot of hours looking in shops and on line to find the perfect toys for my children.
For me toys need to be durable, attractive and fun. They should have an educational or learning aspect, whether it’s developing fine motor skills, encouraging them to share and play together, developing creativity or learning new talents. Best of all I love toys that tidy away neatly!
It’s something I’m really passionate about, so the past few months have been really exciting, if a little daunting at times. Of course, there has been a lot of hard work, but it has been a lot of fun too.
We spent months visiting trade fairs and scouring the Internet sourcing suppliers and, most importantly of all having lots of serious meetings with my chief advisors: Phoebe and Stanley. As the real experts they told me (with the kind of complete and utter honesty which we all come to expect from our children) what they liked, what they didn’t and most tellingly for this new venture which ones their friends would like!
Once the first deliveries arrived it was like Christmas day! We had great fun unpacking and playing with all the toys.
There were some clear favourites from the start, especially the suitcases, musical instruments and the doodle by stitch products, which allow them to draw on things, they wouldn’t normally be allowed- much to the delight of Phoebe and Stanley.
I also got them involved in the photo shoot and asked them to pick some of their favourite toys to play with. The most exciting thing here seemed to be that they could have inside toys outside. I hadn’t realised I was so strict!
I asked them for a mini review on their favourite toy for this article:
Phoebe:
“I love the accordion because it goes really long and makes different noises. I like playing a musical instrument”.
“I like the bird garden because I like making and birds. Can I put it in my bedroom?”
Stanley:
“I like the floating ball because its magic”
“The cars in the suitcase have cars and a road and a garage, I could take them when I go for a sleepover to Grandmas”.
